Wow! Bread baking was a Friday ritual at my house growing up. My father was Sicilian and he loved homemade bread. My mother made a huge bowl (enough for 4 loaves). She also managed to reserve some to make a Sicilian style pizza. She baked it in an old cake pan and slathered it with tomatoes, peppers, onions and grated romano cheese and some dollops of fresh mozarella. This was over 30 years ago. My friends used to beg for leftovers!!!

We made bread last night. First time in a couple months! I didn’t want to heat up the kitchen during the summer. The fall is perfect for baking bread. Today, we made fresh apple cake. The 2nd in 2 weeks! Love fall baking!
