I am so intimidated to participate in the Spring Cleaning Party hosted over at Simple Mom. You’d think that the organizer in me would be gung-ho and ready to go, but actually I am a little unsure about how much I am going to be able to accomplish.
I have never really liked cleaning. I like organizing, ordering, and streamlining. Scrubbing, folding, dusting, vacuuming and mopping were never my thing. Additionally, I now live in a town home. Not a huge one, but it has three toilets, two flights of stairs, 9 closets, one storage room, and 4 rooms filled with way too many baby toys. I have never in my life had to clean something so large and this is why I don’t clean as much as is really needed. Oh, and let us not forget the two little mess-up monsters who follow in my path and try to thwart my every cleaning effort. They drop more crumbs than Hansel and Gretel ever needed to, shred more paper into bits than we do on “national shred day,” and move more items from their places than the brides-to-be grabbing designer dresses off the Filene’s Basement racks 30 seconds after entering the premises. So, I’ll just have to clean really quickly and then clean it all up at the end of the day again after they have gone to bed. *sigh* Does the messy-ness get better as they grow older? I don’t think teenager-dom is a clean/organized phase in life.
Nevertheless, I need a little bottle-of-Windex-kick-in-the-butt to do a deep spring cleaning on my home, and I am excited to be a part of the Spring Cleaning Party at Simple Mom. Head over her way to check it out and don’t forget to visit Party co-host Mandi’s blog at Organizing Your Way for more helpful tips, tricks, and cleaning encouragement! I can’t wait to see some clean houses around the blogosphere! Happy cleaning.
