That's a good challenge. I've got paper towel use of my own almost completely gone, but breaking my kids and my husband's paper towel habit is taking a lot more effort.

I gave up paper towels 2 years ago and it is the easiest change I've every made. First, I cut up all my baby's receiving blankets and zigzagged the edges. All his washcloths, my wash cloths, stained dish towels, Cut up t-shirts, etc. (probably 50 or more pieces) now reside in a large drawer in the kitchen that my son can reach. We use these exclusively and throw them right into the washer when they are ready. Like with cloth diapers, it generates a few more loads of laundry per year, but it was worth it. It cuts on expenses, there's no packaging in the trash and no counter space is taken up with that roll! Good luck. You can do it.
