I guess I learned how when I was 10 or so, but I certainly didn't KNIT until recently. These first two hats, you only need to learn the k2tog stitch to complete the hat! Knit two together, you can find some great tutorials with video here...http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/decreases. This is how I learned...well this and reading from a book. good luck to you!
