So true! Making costumes is TIME CONSUMING!! But since I am trying still trying out my new sewing machine it is kind of fun. Except for the invisible thread. I’ll post a little preview of my son’s Speed Racer jacket soon. He almost wouldn’t give me back the logo applique piece. The fairy costume, expensive. Very. The jacket, not so much. And thanks for the “adorable owl” comment. You made me smile.

Thrift stores actually, and friends. I frequent 4 in my area and I am actually able to get cashmere sweaters for $1. Most of the time it is about $3-$6 per sweater. Always go on sale day, and go early! It is fun finding those diamonds in the rough.

Your owl is adorable and kudos to you for making the kids Halloween outfits. Tried that last year and ended up spending more in materials (won’t mention the time it took!) than I would have if I bought on at the Costume shop.
