Birthday Party Planning – Event Planning

In February this year we celebrated my daughter Sydney’s first birthday party. I actually planned two birthday parties; one for family and one for friends who have young children. After 4 weeks of intense event planning, a little stress, a lot of cooking, and tons of support from my husband, both events went off without a hitch. Take a peek at her parties by viewing the slideshow below.

Planning a party that runs smoothly, is on budget, and creates lasting memories is a hard thing to do.  To help you plan your birthday event, I designed a Birthday Party Planner with weekly checklists to keep you on track! A note about Sydney’s Birthday:

I am an avid baker and I love creating elaborate special occasion cakes.  But, Sydney honey, I am sorry I didn’t make a “special cake” for your first birthday. (The first we purchased from Costco, and the second was actually home-made gourmet cupcakes in fancy wrappers I purchased.) I hope you will forgive me. I did throw TWO parties for you! (To give you an idea of why Sydney may someday think I didn’t work hard enough on her first birthday cake below are a couple of birthday cakes I made for others. (The first one is a jungle babies theme and the second is the Little Einsteins’ Pat Pat Rocket.)

I like your post on birthday party planning.
I actually just did a recent post on why you should bake your own cake for parties IF you have the time(to be frugal and have decorating fun!). Here is the link: http://frugalfriends.wordpress.com/2009/04/24/frugal-cake-lady/
