I love bins. I should use them in more places. My biggest problem is my junk drawers and kitchen drawers. Can't keep them organized for ANYthing.

Carie, thanks so much for your great ideas. I love that you pointed out that you use bins to organize items you might use together. Take them all out together, and put them all back together. So smart...hum...I wonder where else I can use this concept in my home...

I use 2 plastic bins for "tupperware" lids-- 1 for round lids, 1 for square lids. This way I can stack the square & round containers without lids flying all around. I just slide out the "rounds" & find my lid.

Also, 1 bin for spices & 1 for baking sweets (cocoa, chips, etc). I have a tiny Big-City kitchen, so our pantry is a front-hall closet. These bins make it easy to bring all the spices I need into the kitchen to work, then put away easily.

I love having everything together in one container instead of spread all over a shelf or drawer. I use old baskets in my pantry to hold baking supplies and seasoning envelopes or drink mixes. My make-up drawer is organized with shallow plastic bins I picked up at the dollar store 3/$1. The kids paints are in an old shoe box on the art shelf.
