Here is a quick tip post to start your organizing week out on the right foot….
5 Ways I Use Bins to Organize at Home

Organize your plastic baggies of frozen fresh herbs and zests in a small plastic bin. This way they don’t slide around in your freezer!

Keep your over the counter meds and first aid organized in a single and keep it handy on a cabinet shelf.

Keep that drippy bleach measuring cup from messing up your fabrics by putting it and your detergent measure in a plastic bin.

Mama King from 4 Crazy Kings organizes her kid-crafting supplies in a plastic bin. Head on over to her blog for more great kid-crafts and organizing ideas.

Finally, keep your bagged snacks in order by placing them together in a bin on your pantry shelf.
Hope these quick tips are useful to you. I bought the bins with holes at Walmart for under $2 each and the clear plastic bin at The Container Store for about the same. Do you organize in plastic bins? Leave a comment here and lend your organizing expertise to other readers. Happy Organizing!

I love bins. I should use them in more places. My biggest problem is my junk drawers and kitchen drawers. Can’t keep them organized for ANYthing.
Carie, thanks so much for your great ideas. I love that you pointed out that you use bins to organize items you might use together. Take them all out together, and put them all back together. So smart…hum…I wonder where else I can use this concept in my home…
I use 2 plastic bins for “tupperware” lids– 1 for round lids, 1 for square lids. This way I can stack the square & round containers without lids flying all around. I just slide out the “rounds” & find my lid.
Also, 1 bin for spices & 1 for baking sweets (cocoa, chips, etc). I have a tiny Big-City kitchen, so our pantry is a front-hall closet. These bins make it easy to bring all the spices I need into the kitchen to work, then put away easily.
Marci, these are really great bin uses!! Thanks for sharing. I am going to use these in my home!
I love having everything together in one container instead of spread all over a shelf or drawer. I use old baskets in my pantry to hold baking supplies and seasoning envelopes or drink mixes. My make-up drawer is organized with shallow plastic bins I picked up at the dollar store 3/$1. The kids paints are in an old shoe box on the art shelf.
